Lightweight, premium Teijin synthetic comprises the upper, for comfort, durability, and natural ball feel. Minimal, three-piece TPU outsole saves weight at the midfoot, and flywire at the instep provides lateral support with the lightest possible weight without compromising flexibility. Lots of flex in the forefoot outsole piece. Multi-directional, bladed stud configuration optimizes traction and grip for bursts of speed in all directions.
A more abrasive coating makes a textured striking surface at the lateral side of the Nike Vapor's forefoot, and again at the SWOOSH™ in the instep and the stripe up the medial side of the heel. The difference of textures is noticeable to the touch during shots, traps, and passes.
The internal heel counter is low and lightweight, and integrated light padding at the top of the ankle collar protrudes for a snug, secure fit at the rearfoot. Carbon fiber last further enhances fit and comfort for unencumbered on-field performance. Similarly contoured sockliner with EVA inserts further enhances cushioning and mirrors the natural contours of the last for a comfortable fit and feel, while reducing stud pressure. The upper is formed from a minimum number of pieces to minimize stitching and vulnerability. Teijin synthetic breaks in more comfortably than most synthetics, and is supple though extremely light.
