Playing in the PowerCat is a unique experience. It combines supple kangaroo leather and a lighter weight than most boots of this style with unique “Power” technology. The kangaroo leather upper, with widely offset lacing, yields a huge striking area on the top and medial side of the foot, while snugly wrapping the foot entirely.
Inlaid in this kicking surface are firm injected PU ridges, which form Puma’s 3D Power Shooting Technology (3D PST). The ridges cross the primary striking surface of the boot to increase the grip and power behind every volley or long ball. The upper features fresh Cat branding and the notable absence of the usual Puma formstripe.
Lightweight TPU outsole with dual-density bladed studs in Puma’s stable power configuration. Biomechanically designed heel stud placement, designed for maximum contact throughout the player’s natural running stride. The forefoot features two central blades to support the midfoot, and widely placed studs provide excellent balance and stability during cuts and forward motion.
The external heel counter extends from the soleplate, cupping the rear of the heel and supporting the slightly more flexible internal counter. The heel cup is lightly padded and the Achilles extension curls forward to lock the ankle in comfortably against the brushed synthetic inner lining in the back half of the boot. The ball striking and grip enhancement provided by the 3D PST technology put the PowerCat in the power boot category, but its reasonably light weight and supple kangaroo upper give it a multidimensional personality.
